No Sugar November
I’ve been working on losing baby weight for the last three months and overall it is going well, though I suspect it’s due to the eagerness with which my baby eats rather than any concerted effort on my part to work hard at building muscle or practicing restraint.
While I skated by on few desserts and carbs because of a gluten allergy/intolerance, and made do with ten minute post-partum ab exercises, the time has come to take a good long look in the mirror (especially in profile) and recognize that for me to continue to make progress toward my goal, I am going to have to kick it into high gear, not only in the area of regular exercise, but also perhaps re-evaluating my own tendency toward gluttony. Thus I have determined to issue a strike on sugar. (Great timing, considering the 15 lbs of candy my children hauled in over the last weekend.)
Some practice No Quarter November or No Shave November, and I shall be starting No Sugar November in which it is my goal and true desire to eliminate sugar and chocolate from my diet (with the exception of my morning coffee), until Thanksgiving Day when I shall indulge in a scrumptious piece of pumpkin pie. It is perhaps not quite a full November, but I shall endeavor to continue the winning streak through December, finishing out 2025 with a thinner, perhaps flatter tummy.
So here’s to the next 20 something days where-in I shall say no to chocolate, turn a blind eye to ice cream and pudding, and smile as my children enjoy the fruits of their trick or treating while I merely help them to manage the way in which they dispose of their goodies.
