My Sister is Married

The vows have been made before God and man, the reception, speeches and dancing completed and the honeymoon started. My little sister Lila is now Lila Margaret Beller!

The ceremony was beautiful, short but complete, shade and cool breezes made the watching even more enjoyable as we faced the ivy-covered walls and listened as Mr. Beller pronounced them man and wife on that June evening in East Texas.

I missed the cocktail hour and fancy hors d’eouvres due to putting Walter to bed for the babysitter, but it was worth the extra time since I was able to eat dinner, listen to touching speeches and bask in the joy of a chicken Mediterranean dinner eaten without a baby in my lap or on my hip.

Did I dance? Yes. So much. I’m only sad that my endurance could not last through all the crazy dancing. I had forgotten about dance circles and competitions traditional for the cousin/sibling wedding dances. I had SO MUCH fun.
